sChoosing the Right Toner for Your Skin TypeTo get the best results from the use of toner, you must choose a toner that suits your skin type. The following are tips that should guide you in choosing the right toner for your skin type:

• For oily skin: You should use toners that will aid in the removal of excess oil and tighten the pores as well. The toner should have a high alcohol content and vitamin C to reduce any inflammation and reddening of the skin.
• For dry skin: Use a toner that do not have astringents; instead, it should contain hydrating agents such as hyaluronic acid. This will help in keeping the skin moisturized even before the application of a moisturizer.
• For a combined skin: where the T-zone is oilier than other parts of the face, use a toner that absorbs moisture on the forehead and the area around the nose. On the cheek area,  use a moisturizing toner to help the skin stay hydrated. The moisturizing toner should be just mild and ensure that it does not spread to the oilier parts of the face.
• For sensitive skin: the toner that has a water mist is the best for sensitive skin as it is light and will also keep the skin moisturized and glowing.

A facial toner can be applied by either spraying it on the face or by use of a cotton ball. The toner can also be applied using the palm of your hands where you apply a little content of the toner and gently spread it on the face.
Toners will only work well if you use the right one for your skin type. When a client comes for a facial in your spa, inspect the skin thoroughly before any procedure commences so that you will know the skin type. You can also ask the client to help you in determining the skin type so that you do not make mistakes. With these measures in place, you can be assured of great results and you will have the customer coming back and bringing in more customers.
