​What's a LED Facial?
A LED facial is a beauty treatment that uses LED light to trigger different reactions in the epidermis and penetrating the skin at various levels. According to Trip Savvy: "LED treatments work by using an array of bright light-emitting diodes (originally developed by NASA!) that send low-level light energy into the deeper layers of the skin."
Usually, a LED facial is going to use two types of lights that have different purposes. The blue light is used to kill the bacteria that produces acne. Moreover, blue light treats blackheads and whiteheads. Unlike blue light, red light stimulates the production of collagen and shrink the size of the pores.
LED facial treatment is completely painless and non-invasive. Some experts recommend LED treatments because it treats the areas that are to reach for Botox or Injections. Furthermore, after a few sessions of LED facial, you'll notice a reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, and sun damage. LED facials can reduce the side effects of other laser treatments. Compared to other therapies, LED facials are more natural and gentler option.
Usually, a LED facial must be done in 6 sessions with a week or two apart. Every month, you must do a touch-up. A session lasts around 5 to 30 minutes. Your esthetician is going to use a machine with a small head that's about three inches wide. He or she is going to place the device on the skin for a few minutes before moving to another area of the skin. Additionally, LED facials can be applied to a machine that has seven-inch squares. The esthetician will use this machine over your face in three sections and this way the treatment is done much faster.
If you're preoccupied with your eyes, we just want to say: Don't even worry! A LED facial shouldn't hurt your eyes because they won't be covered by the machine. Talk to your esthetician if you feel any discomfort during the treatment.
