Side Effects of Laser Hair RemovalThough the process of laser hair removal is relatively safe, the process may result in side effect some of which are listed below:

  • The skin may get severely burnt in the process of the laser hair removal process especially those with a darker skin color. This is a result of a more intense rate of heat absorption.
  • The process may lead to either hyperpigmentation (skin becoming dark) or hypopigmentation (skin becoming light).
  • The eyes may get injured in the process and you should, therefore, provide protection to your eye throughout the entire process.
  • Itching of the skin during the laser removing session and also after the process is complete.
  • Reddening of the skin after the treatment or even swelling around the affected follicles. This may last for a few days and the skin will be back to normal.
  • The affected area may be painful, numb or tingle when touched after a laser treatment and this may last for a few days.
  •  Some mild bruises may be noticed in those areas especially for a person who has a sensitive skin but will heal in a short while. You may also notice that the skin around the treated area is hardened which will disappear in a few days.
  • The affected skin may turn purple after the laser treatment but this is a rare occurrence.
  • If the skin that has undergone the laser hair removal process is not well taken care of, infections may occur after the process. Though it does not happen often, you should take care that this will not happen.
Skin that has undergone the laser hair removal process is very sensitive and should be handled with care. Cleaning is a simple process that will keep you free from infections which should be done gently to avoid further damage. The outcome of this process cannot be compared to the mild side effects.
