Precautions When Steaming a Client’s Face During a Facial
Though steaming is beneficial when carrying out a facial treatment, you have to be careful that you conduct it in the right way. Here are precautions that you should watch out for:

• Always ensure that the client’s face is thoroughly cleaned before the steaming process. If this is not done, the dirt, oils, and the makeup on the face will inhibit the flow of the steam into the skin.
• Check to ensure that the water temperature is not too high; the extremely hot temperature will cause damage to the face and may even lead to burns.
• Do not begin the steaming process while the water is still placed over the source of heat. The heat could get too much leading to burns and further damage to the client’s skin.
• After the fifteen minutes of steaming, use a slightly rough towel to wipe the client’s face and then moisturize the skin.
• After the steaming, advice the client not to go to a place where there is an air conditioner or a fan immediately after steaming as this could cause damage to the facial skin.
• Steaming should be carried out only twice a month as frequent steaming could result in extreme drying of the facial skin.

During a facial treatment, every process is meant to make the face look better and not lead to further damage. Ensure that the steam will not damage the skin by burning it as this will ruin all the benefits the client would have gotten from the facial treatment.
After a facial, ensure that the client’s face is moisturized; the process has removed any oil residue and it will require moisture for it to look better than it was before. You will also need to take care of your skin afterward by using products that work best for your type of skin. This is the only way you will maintain the beauty resulting from the facial treatment.
